Plastic Surgery and the Search for Normality

I learned something new today: labiaplasties. It seems that those procedures are not always necessary but are done due to cultural and social influences. Not the best argument for plastic surgery. The article relating that study in the UK can be read here. Nature is not about perfection, it is about function. The search for 'normality' is a very subjective and fluctuating concept and must be questioned all the time.

Happy New Year to my readers. I wish you all the best for 2014.
However, 2014 is starting as being one of the coldest in years. I am wondering why....

These are Japanese Temples for ... boobs!

In my quest to learn more about the incredible Japanese culture, I found this article about Kannon, a Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. First, it does look odd but there are only two temples for this Goddess in Japan.

Ugly Renaissance Babies

I love paintings, great masters and the Renaissance. But I must agree that those babies are really ugly.

Hookers for Obamacare

Obamacare is good for hookers, for prostitutes. In two videos, we understand that it is good for them but at a high price. After all, they work so hard (no pun intended here...).

UCLA Prof accused of racist “micro-aggression” for correcting student grammar

This story is the perfect consequence of political correctness. For years, higher education institutions have promoted a politically correct environment in which "unwelcomed" (ie contrary to the mainstream) thoughts and opinions were simply silenced. How many college professors are (openly) conservative? It was also a way to manufacture young people minds according to a very specific agenda (namely liberal). Now, this professor must have been among those who promoted in the first place this liberal agenda. The students have surpassed the master. Biting the hands that feeds. No need to say more. The article is self-explanatory.

Harlan Ellison

I just love people with big cojones. Harlan Ellison, the famous writer, is one of them. He wrote an open letter about the uselessness of the Oscars and alike awards. I don't watch those shows, or any TV programs for that matter, not only because I don't care but also because I have no TV! I thank God everyday for that. And my laptop connected to the Internet! I control all I want to watch for a fraction of the cost of TV packages offered.
